She may have a dusting of flour on her face, but Sarah takes care not to get her beautiful new  lace dimity apron that Grandmother England has made for her soiled.  This is her first time baking for a holiday and so she has decided to wear a historic blue and white ticking stripe dress that she loves.  When the dress was made last year, Grandmother taught her how to embroider little french knots and so you'll see that she has bordered the hem of her dress with her new skill.  Sarah makes you laugh and become excited to bake tasty treats for your friends this season.

Sarah is charmingly outfitted in a handloomed cotton check  dress and  striped pinafore that befits a young school girl of the colonial period.  Both her petticoat, which has tucks and lace on the border and her school dress with a gathered ruffle edge are handsewn.  The sweet details on her apron include embroidery, a penny pocket and tiny red beads for buttons.  This Sarah is a perfect 'first' collectible especially for a girl just beginning her school days.

Because this is nearing the Christmas season, Sarah has chosen to wear her red and green check gingham dress and a handwoven red and white check cotton pinafore. Notice that she has made herself a great big green bow with a holiday touch of berries and leaves.  This is so Sarah.    Mother and Sarah sewed both outfits and had a wonderful time adding little details as red ribbon above the ruffles on her dress and    tucking on the pinafore, along with stitching tiny red buttons and trim to make it unique.  If her finely woven cotton  petticoat shows you'll notice a pretty lace trim and a few handmade ribbon bows, just because Sarah is such a feminine little girl.  Sarah can wear her dress for the outdoors 'party' and also to special programs this season at school and church.

Christmas day is a dress up day at the England's and the womenfolk have made very beautiful dresses to wear both for going to church, coming home and opening  up their special handmade presents and for the splendid Christmas dinner that was prepared earlier  Christmas Eve day.  Grandmother and Mother used the beautiful green velvet that Grandmother had brought from England to sew Sarah's dress and the silk under apron and embroidered lace dress apron fabric came from a mill in the colonies.  Her charmingly lace trimmed petticoat has gay design  little blue flowers within the trim and this beautiful outfit will always be a carried as a memory of this blessed holiday.   This collectible Sarah is so very special that she can be handed down from one generation to the next in your family.

Brrr,  it's snowy and cold, but the night is clear and full of stars, so Sarah decided to dress up anyhow and put on a green calico print dress, but look at the beautiful red and green plaid pinafore and ribbons that she wears underneath her lovely red cloak.  What are you going to wear for a special holiday dress?
Sarah in her Writing Invitations to a party dress
Sarah has two dresses for school and this is her very favorite.   The black, beige and ivory linen plaid is made from handloomed  fabric and she has worn a striped cotton apron that she made herself, with Grandmother Love's help of course.  Notice the dress's pointed white percale collar with tiny seed pearls stitched on the edges for dressmaker details.  If you peek under the dress you will find her petticoat has rows of pintucking and lovely satin ribbon and a ribbon bos stitched along the hem.  Sarah thought that  wearing her best school dress to work in Mr. Ashford's general store required a very smart outfit.  Don't you think so too.
