About "Sarah England's World," The Book

...an introduction to Sarah and her adventures
Sarah England's World Storybook
I thought perhaps you would like to know a little about the type of character and personality that Sarah had.  To begin, Sarah lived around 1761 in a time and place where strength of character in a small community, in the relatively new America, was important.  As she was raised in a Quaker family, she believed in truth and honesty and this was reflected in every aspect of her life.  Sarah was  a gentle young girl, but very curious and adventurous and loved to explore the simple, natural world around her.  She loved the earth and regarded all the wonders of the world as precious and you will find this carries over in the stories about her.  Much of her life evolved around work on their farm and she enjoyed planning the garden with her mother and grandmother... working with the earth was rewarding to her.  As you will discover, Sarah and her friends all enjoyed the outdoors, the fields and woods around their village and they could always be found making little things from these surroundings.

Sarah loved her home and family life  where she learned to sew little dresses for her dolls and knit mittens for herself and her family for holidays.  Of course weaving and spinning were everyday tasks and Sarah helped card the wool and skein the yarn for weaving and knitting,  a skill few of us have today.  She always wanted to do her part in helping the family.

One of the attributes that I like about Sarah is that she was always thinking about activities with her friends that would benefit the community.  The first book in our upcoming series will be about the joy of the Christmas season and  her sharing her gifts with the community.

You will find that your daughters, nieces, granddaughters and friend's children will learn even more about the beliefs, morals and ethics that were and are so important to girls as they are growing.

So,  this is Sarah England,  a truly splendid mouse.
